AK can assist you in solving your environmental requirements in many ways.
 |
Wetland Delineations
In accordance with the Clean Water Act, any construction involving ground disturbance requires the evaluation of the site for wetlands and waterbodies (streams, drainage swales, ponds, etc.). AK can perform wetland delineations in accordance with the appropriate state or federal agencies’ protocols.
|
|
Habitat Assessments
Habitat assessments may be required prior to construction of a project to determine the potential for impact to threatened or endangered species of plants or animals or their potential habitat.
AK can perform habitat assessments from simple walkover investigations to use of the Habitat Evaluation Procedure.

Federal and State Permitting/Authorizations
AK can prepare the environmental information necessary to support applications for a variety of permits including, but not limited to, NPDES (construction stormwater and industrial wastewater discharge) permits, Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) Certificates, Federal Clean Water Act Section 401 and 404 permits, erosion and sediment control plan approvals, coastal area development permits, and stream encroachment permits.

Agency Coordination
AK can assist our clients in coordinating with the agencies to determine issues of concern early in the planning process. AK can prepare consultation letters, attend agency preapplication meetings and accompany agency personnel during onsite inspections.

 |
Environmental Inspection
During construction of large projects it may be required by either the state or the Federal government that an environmental inspector should oversee construction. The inspector supervises construction activities assuring these activities are in compliance with applicable environmental regulations.
We can provide environmental inspection services to clients across the country. We have a wide-range of inspectors available to provide a high-quality service.
|
|
Environmental Training
Due to the complexity of the state and federal regulations, environmental training is often provided to construction supervisors and equipment operators prior to commencement of construction. This training explains all the applicable regulations in common terms, points out any specific restrictions of certain areas, and insures that the laborers are familiar with the best management practices to be used during construction.
We can develop and present a training course suited for the needs of our client.
